Trojan bypassing the securities of Google Play Store
Lost24
Have you heard about Shuabang campaigns, widespread in China?
The Google company has a series of securities which enable to detect and block fake users of the Google Play Store.
However, the Trojan creators effectively bypassed this protection, on the level of devices which have access to administrator rights (root). Trojan is trying to impersonate the behaviour of the real user in the Play store.
Trojan gets to the device such as smartphone or tablet through the Leech tool, giving rights to the user's device. Thanks to that, cybercriminals have access to our passwords or authorizing certificates. Trojan uses it for communication with Play Store pretending to be a real application.
Trojan is used to conduct false advertising campaigns but what is worse it can also use the user's device to download, install and asses applications (including the paid ones).
It is nothing else than Shuabang Campaign popular in China. It is nothing else than fake advertising actions promoting legal applications by adding high grades or the substantial amount of comments or downloads. Applications of this type can increase our bill for downloading a lot of data or use the card connected with Play Store and to install the paid program on our device.
