Ransomware that will destroy your files anyway, even if you pay the criminals

Lost24

According to BleepingComputer, a new piece of software has emerged that, after getting into our computer, will block access to files, and require to pay ransom for them - Onyx Ransomware. After visiting the criminals' website and paying the ransom, the files that we were promised to recover will be corrupted and we will not be able to recover them. The maximum size of file that can be recovered is only 200MB.

However, if we do not pay the ransom, the data (previously stolen) will be made public on the Internet.

The virus is often found under these names:

MSIL / LockScreen.QR
Ransom.the Onyx
Ransom_the OnyxLOCKSCREEN.A
Trojan.MSIL.gen.18
W32.Troj.Ransom! C
Win32.Malware! Drop
Win32.Trojan-Ransom.Winlock.F

The best solution to avoid falling victim is to install software from verified broadcasters
