Crowd, absent-mindedness, too great confidence ..... a moment's distraction can be enough to become the victim of the pickpocket. Every year in large urban agglomerations as many as a dozen or so thousand victims report this kind of theft to the police. 

Police emphasize that in terms of pickpockets, the detectability is just a few per cent at maximum. In case of such a theft, it is extremely difficult to prove anything to the perpetrator, if we do not catch him red-handed. 

For the thief, a crowded street, a hypermarket or a public transport are the perfect places, not mentioning mass events or bus and train stations. 

A perfect victim is an owner of the opened rucksack or bag or a person who carries the wallet in a back pocket. 

Everyone knows that one should well protect carried documents and money, so why do we have all these thefts? 

We would like to give you a few hints, how to minimize the risk of losing money or documents. 

Appeal to Women, carry the bag with lock facing ourselves, always have a wallet at the bottom of the bag, it is not a great effort but it will certainly minimize this risk of the theft. 

Men, if you have a custom of carrying documents and a wallet in a back pocket, separate it to two places, e.g. documents in the inside pocket of the jacket. 

Stolen set - documents with the address + the keys to the flat = perfect loot. Apart from losing so important things, we can additionally end up having our flat robbed before we manage to react. 

If theft attempt happens or we will be witnesses of making such an attempt we have to react. A passenger of the bus can be a perfect example. When she realized that somebody is trying to steal things from her bag, she raised the alarm and the thief got away from the vehicle immediately. 

Remember not to be passive, if we notice the attempt of theft we have to react because one day we can find ourselves in the same situation.
