Check Point company informed about new malware called HummingBad which attacks smartphones. 


What is malware (malicious software)? Generally speaking, it is malicious software which constitutes growing problem for the users of  smartphones  and computers. 


There can be over 10 million Android smartphones infected with  HummingBad. 


How does HummingBad work? 


After infecting our smartphone HummingBad installs additional harmful applications, what's more, it shows advertisements which generate profits for malware authors. 


However, the most dangerous threat which HummingBad carries is the ability to take over the administrator  rights of our equipment. That way, it gains the access to our passwords. 


This type of malicious software can stay undetected by antivirus applications. Pay attention to the website we visit. Avoid the installation of unauthorized applications on our smartphones.
